Background

Application for masters UK Commonwealth Scholarship 2023/2024 session is ongoing. This institution-nominated master’s program is one of three master’s programs offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission(CSC) which are offers made by UK government based on international development goals. It operates under the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) which underscores the UK’s enduring commitment to the Commonwealth countries. Scholarship requirement

Purpose: UK Commonwealth Masters Scholarships, funded by the UK Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), enable competent and motivated individuals to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for sustainable development to study in the UK. It’s aimed at people who can’t afford it. Eligible beneficiaries of the Commonwealth Masters Scholarships are qualified low- and middle-income Commonwealth country candidates pursuing a full-time master’s degree at a UK university.

Document to be summited

To be eligible UK commonwealth Scholarship , the application must include supporting documentation. Please note that candidates must obtain references from their institution letterhead or email references clearly identifying the sender and  upload them along with other supporting documents in PDF format to the application system . This is a change from last year when reviewers received another email requesting comments. References must be uploaded to the application system by the application deadline. After the closing date any document that will be summited will not be consider for review:

  • Proof that the applicant is a citizen of an eligible common wealth country or has refugee status: copy of valid passport (or ID card) with photo, date of birth, country of citizenship All universities.
  • A complete transcript (including recent transcripts) showing qualifications for the course you are currently studying, if not in English, with certified translations.
  • An institutional letter head References from at least two of her individuals or email clearly displaying sender details.

If any of the above Document is not made available before or on the application dead line by the applicant such applicant will be seen as ineligible for the scholarship opportunity.

Eligibility:

The following are the eligible requirement for candidate wishing to apply for the 2023/2024 common wealth scholarship:

  • Be a citizen of an eligible Commonwealth country, or have been granted refugee status by that country, or be a person protected by the United Kingdom.
  • possess permanent residency in an eligible commonwealth country (See list below).
  • Be able to start academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September 2023.
  • By September 2023, at least second class upper in honor degrees (2:1) or second class lower (2:2) and a related postgraduate degree (usually a master’s degree) CSC does not normally fund a second UK master’s degree If you are applying for a second UK master’s degree, you will need to justify why you want to pursue this degree.
  • Candidate cannot successfully afford to study in the UK without this scholarship.
  • Provide all supporting documentation in the required format.

Method of application

Candidates must apply to CSC with one of the nominating bodies listed below. A nominating agency then proposes candidates to CSC for these scholarships. The scholarship agencies lnclude:

Each nominating body oversees its own selection process and may have additional eligibility criteria Candidates should check with the nominating body for specific advice and rules regarding application and their own eligibility criteria Nominating bodies can set their own deadline dates.

  • Enter the country in which you are citizen again and click on next.
  • Answer some few questions and click next.
  • Enter your full details and follow the sequence

Note: the following criteria will be use to select individual for the scholarship award which include:

  • Study plan quality of the candidate.
  • Academic merit of the applicant.
  • Potential impact on the development of the applicant home country.

Closing Date

Applications are now open for the Commonwealth Masters Scholarships for the 2023/24 academic year. Application deadline (including supporting documents) is 18 of October 2022.
