Elks Scholarship

Firstly, What is the Elks Scholarship all about?

The Elks organization set up largest communities around the country, They invest in this communities by setting up programmes.

These programs Favors Children, Veterans and other members of the community.

The most valuable student Scholarship programme is initiative they also offer to help the community (Helping Students Pay for college).

So if you go to their website, you can see where it says the Elks Scholarship 2023 Application is open.

in order to be eligible for this Scholarship programme, you must be 

• Current High school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the united States Are eligible to apply
• Applicants do not need to be related to a member of the Elks.
• Hugh school graduates are not eligible to apply.
• Applicants must be citizens of the united states on the date their applications are submitted. Permanent legal resident status does not qualify.

and as for awards; 

• The Elks National Foundation will award 500 inidividuals four year scholarships to the Highest rated applicants in the Institution’s competition. 
• Male and female compete separately.
• Ranging from $1000 per year to $12,500 per year, most valuable students scholarship are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships  are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university. 

Now it’s important  to understand that there are some sort of local and region Elks scholarships  that you could be eligible for as part of the application  process. So you could even be eligible for other scholarships  through the Elks program beyond the 500 Award that will come from the national offers.

and in addition to the money, the twenty top  finalist traditionally* participate in an all expenses paid Leadership Weekend in Chicago during which they will interview with the national judges.

It’s the Top Finalists going to be interviewed will determine how they will get their awards respectively.

All you just need to do is go to their website and register. 

Then as for evaluation  and determining of the Scholarship winner;

1. An Independent  selection  committee will evaluate the applications and select the recipients considering:

1. Leadership 
2. Academic achievement and records 
3. Community Involvement
4. Financial Need

So those are the things you will need to highlight in the documents you have to submit.

Then another question is, is it a needs based scholarship?  The answer is no, there is not a minimum income required in order to apply nor is there a maximum income they will not consider. 

In addition, you can apply for other scholarship from the national level in addition to the valuable most student award but you can not accept more than one.
